Breeding report on the fresh sweet-waxy corn variety ‘ Guangcaitiannuo No.7’ and its high-yield cultivation technology with plastic film mulching

‘Guangcaitiannuo No.7’，the fresh sweet-waxy corn，was bred by 09N93（female）and TN54 （male）. The ratio of sweet grain to waxy grain is 1:3 on progeny ear of the hybrid maize. Results of variety comparative test，conducted at different areas in spring and autumn of 2012 to 2013，indicated that the hybrid maize had high quality，strong resistance and broad adaptability. In the Guangdong province regional trial for new waxy corn combinations in spring of 2014，the hybrid maize showed similar yield and quality with‘ Yuecainuo No.2’ as the control，and was suit for planting in Guangdong. In this paper，the breeding process，variety characteristics， mulching principle and high-yield cultivation technology of the hybrid maize were reviewed，to promote production and development of fresh corn.
