Abstract: Sea cucumber has a high nutritional and medicinal value. In recent year, price of sea cucumber is rising with the demand increasing, which led to reduction of sea cucumber natural resources. Thus, sea cucumber culture has become a new pillar industries of mariculture, and tropical sea cucumber aquaculture research will be an important trend of mariculture research. In China, Stichopus japonicus is the main aquaculture specie. The article reviewed the tropical sea cucumber aquaculture, in order to provide a reference for the sea cucumber breeding and aquaculture research.
