Abstract: Scientific theory basis and strategic direction are provided for the development of local agriculture by regional agricultural plans. And it will directly influence the development of local agriculture, society and economy if it is not scientific, rational and practical in regional agricultural plans. Advanced technical support will be provided for those plans which are compiled and implemented by GIS, about agricultural space -related data collection, management, analysis, simulation, and display, etc., based on geographical spatial database. The applied range and characters of GIS technology in regional agricultural plans were primarily discussed in this paper，based on the analysis of studies on regional agricultural plans and agricultural application of GIS at home and abroad.
