Abstract: With the development of viticulture technology， the key factors that limit the development of grape industry in south China have been removed. Guangdong is facing a new opportunity for development of grape industry. In order to understand the advantages and constrains of grape industry in Guangdong， the authors analyzed the climate characters， table grape market， current vineyard managers， and viticulture science and technology in Guangdong and investigatied grape industry in grape production areas in Guangdong and neighboring provinces. The results showed that the development of grape industry in Guangdong had advantages in climate， market， land availability， production scale and late development. However， currently grape industry in Guangdong was still constrained by diverse diseases and pests， frequent typhoons， high labor cost and weak technical supporting system.
