Abstract: To study the effects of soil factors on the quality of Pseudostellariae Radix，the contents of polysaccharides，water soluble extractive and total ash of Pseudostellariae Radix gathered from different localities were determined，and physiochemical properties of soil were analyzed. The results showed that，the quality of Pseudostellariae Radix gathered from different localities were obviously different. Soil factors could influence the quality of Pseudostellariae Radix significantly. There was very significant positive correlation between the content of water soluble extractive in Pseudostellariae Radix and organic matter，alkali－hydrolyzable nitrogen in soil，but negative correlation with soil pH. The result can provide basis for normalized planting of Pseudostellariae Radix.
