Abstract: Guangdong has superior geographical environment and climate conditions in South subtropics, has very rich and high quality varieties of fruit resources and a long history of fruit cultivation. So Guangdong has the unique advantages for developing subtropical fruits. After development of many years, fruit industry has become an important source of agricultural efficiency and farmers' income in Guangdong. In 2014, the scale of Guangdong fruit industry was stable, fruit prices fluctuated. The article analyzed the present situation of Guangdong fruit industry in 2014 from 3 aspects, including fruit production, price, foreign trade and so on, and pointed out the main problems of Guangdong fruit industry, including the fruit industry production and circulation organization to be improved, breeding of new varieties of fruit to be strengthened, agricultural electronic commerce to be improved, preservation and processing to be improved. Finally, suggestions for future development were put forward, like making fruit industry special planning, strengthening the development of fruit industry basic system, improving the fruit industry service system, promoting the fruit science and technology innovation, accelerating the development of e-commerce, accelerating the promotion of fruit insurance policy, strengthening the integration of fruit industry and tourism.
