Abstract: In 2013，the global sweet corn planting area and gross output were 1 467 300 hm2 and 13 597 500tons respectively，while the domestic numbers were 337 000 hm2 and 4 861 000 tons. The planting area of Guangdongwas 160 800 hm2，and among them，Huizhou and Zhanjiang occupied about half，most were winter planting. In recentyears，the industry of sweet corn kept a steady progress，such as the standardized planting technology improved，the planting efficiency improved and the sales channels diversified. But there were still some problems，includingthe narrow germplasm resources，the poor exploitability of existing genetic resources，shortage of storage，cold chainlogistic and inefficient processing technology. In view of these，we put forward the principle of“ Technology drives，company and peasant links，scale and standardization engines，and downstream production pushes” for Guangdongsweet corn industry.
