Abstract: Production status of special citrus in Guangdong province was analyzed based on the citrus regional distribution, variety composition change and the citrus development tendency. Results showed that the main problems in citrus industry of Guangdong province were inconsequence of variety composition, chaos of seedling breeding and serious situation of yellowing of citrus plant. Thus, improving breeding new varieties of special citrus, optimizing the variety composition, completing the virus -free breeding system of citrus, and strengthening the comprehensive control and management on yellowing plants were the key countermeasures to healthily develop citrus industry in Guangdong provice.
