Abstract: Species composition, appearance, structural characteristics and dynamic of Trema tomentosa community were analyzed based on community investigation of 1 200 m2 sample plot set in Dahao Lake, Foshan city.The results showed that: (1) 48 species in 44 genera and 28 families of vascular plants were recorded in the sample plot.(2) The analysis on species important value and frequency analysis showed that T. tomentosa was the main dominant species of the community and its composition diversity and horizontal distribution was uneven. The physiognomy of the community was evergreen.The age structure of dominant population showed that the main population of the community belonged to increasing population. The species diversity of the community was relatively low with the Shannon Wiener index of 3.8113, the Simpson index of 0.8778，the evenness index of 1.0133，and Richness index of 4.9382.The diversity pattern from maximum to minimum was herb,shrub,liana and arbor.(3) Diversity comparison with 3 communities of other same areas showed that the species diversity of T. tomentosa community was rather low and its dominant position was obvious.
