Abstract: Tobacco is one of the important economic crops in Guangze ,the ecological environment of climate,soil and landform has important effects on the yield and quality of tobacco.With the aid of GIS and relevant mathematic models,an integrated evalution of the land resources in Guangze of fujian province was performed for suitability of tobacco production by choosing 15 evaluation indexes from 3 respects of climate, soil and landform. Results showed that the total area of lands suitable for flue-cured tobacco production reached 15402.95 hm2, accounting for 94.35% of the total area of the cultivated land in Guangze,On the whole the flue-cured tobacco suitable land was good in quality,and about 3774.76 hm2 or 24.51% was high in suitability,and 9134.77 hm2 or 59.31% ,moderate in suitability.The land resources in the 野High suitability冶 category were mainly distributed in fine regions,such as Luanfeng, Zhima, Zhaili, Lifang and Chongren,totaling up to 3468.97 hm2, or 91.89% of the category.According to the spatial distribution analysis of suitability evaluation for tobacco production in Guangze,it can provide scientific guidance of building more reasonable area and improving the capacity of high-quality tobacco production .
