Abstract:
A pot experiment was carried out to study the adaptability of Dendrobium officinale grown on different cultivation media including pure composed eucalyptus bark and mixtures of eucalyptus bark, perlite and peat at different ratios. The results showed that composed eucalyptus bark had better growth effect than the air dried barks. Eucalyptus bark composed by the chemical and biological combination method had better results than other composing treatments. The mixed ratio of 211 of the jointly composed eucalyptus, perlite and peat demonstrated the best growth effect among the 12 growth medias, being superior to pine bark based media. The left 11 media also could be used as growth media for D. officinale. The experiment indicated that eucalyptus bark based growth media could be partly or even fully used as alternate of pine bark based media in the cultivation of D. officinale.
