Abstract: On the base of defining the concept of forest carbon sequestration, this paper quantitatively analyses the quantity of the literatures about forest carbon sequestration recorded by China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI), the result shows that more and more attention is paid on this area. In addition, this paper qualitatively analyses the current research situation of forest carbon sequestration, including the knowledge, the system, the market problems, the measurement and valuation methods. Meanwhile, this paper sums up that the shortages are the ambiguous concept, the disaccord measurement and valuation methods, the lack of quantitative study, the incomprehensive institutional research and the lack of the studies about the relationship between forest carbon sequestration and society. Finally, this paper concludes some development trends, such as the expansion of forest carbon sequestration market, the realization of property, the combination of forest carbon sequestration and IT, and the unification of measurement and valuation methods.
