Abstract:
In 2012, the overall situation of Guangdong agriculture presented a stable development trend, compared to that in 2011, the total output value and added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery increased by 3.7% and 3.9%, respectively. The agricultural added value accounting for the province's contribution to the GDP growth rate reached 2.2% with an increase of 0.2%. The overall price of agricultural commodities including rice, pig stabilized, while price of flowers, poultry and other agricultural products fluctuated frequently. Foreign trade of agricultural products kept growth trend, but the industrial differentiation was serious; rice import increased, export slumped; pork export declined; water, seafood export increased. In 2012, Guangdong agricultural science and technology contribution rate was 58%, but the contributions of rice and vegetables were lower than the average level of agricultural industry.
