Abstract: As the vegetable field with high temperature during May to September is not conducive to vegetable growth, the implementation of rice-vegetable rotation cropping system (123 cropping pattern) becomes the ongoing transformation of farming system in Guangdong province. Field experiment has been conducted in Huiyang district since 2004. Plant area and grain yield per unit of middle rice gradually increased with the intensive study and development of techniques. Based on the analysis and conclusion of production characteristic of middle rice, we reviewed the cultivation techniques of middle rice in vegetable field of Huiyang district from seven aspects, including the selection of rice variety, arrangement of production season, plant mode, rational fertilization, water management, pest control and attentions.
