Abstract: Five different abandoned mulberry branches were used for Gastrodia production in this work. Our results showed that abandoned mulberry branches could be used to cultivate Gastrodia and different mulberry resulted in different production. The yeild of “Xinyizhilai"was the highest, 7.75 kg/m2; "Jialing20"was the lowest, 2.46 kg/m2. In descending order, the yeilds were "Xinyizhilai", "Nongsang14", "Shansang305", "7681", "Jialing20". The analysis of variance and significance tests showed that F=68.75, and the differences(α=0.01)were significant among these varieties; "Xinyizhilai"was in the first stage, "Nongsang14"was in the second, "Shansang305"and "7681"were in the third, "Jialing20"was the last.
