Abstract: Based on investigation and analysis of colorful leaf tree species in 13 representative parks in Guangzhou, there have been 100 colorful leaf tree species (including subspecies, varieties and cultivars), accounting for 8.14% of the city's garden trees, mainly through Euphorbiaceae, Moraceae, Caesalpiniaceae and Combretaceae. There are 33 native species that reflect regional landscape features well. Trees and shrubs are more than vine species and often colorful leaf species. Later the methods and ways of developing new colorful leaf tree species in Guangzhou are also discussed.
