Abstract: General components of the forest and fruit pruning machinery were summarized. These components were power source, driving element, force-amplifier, trimming blade and control components. The main performance indexs of the pruning machinery had been introduced. The working principle of typical kinds of the forest and fruit pruning machines had been analyzed and summarized. The existing problems of the forest and fruit pruning machinery were pointed out. The research directions of pruning machinery were pointed out, such as improving power source, using new driving element, analysis of the pruning process, researching on branches pruning mechanical properties, and developing of special pruning equipment.
