Abstract: Based on the Chinese and overseas research, this article reviews the recent research about development, physiological characteristics of ear and tassel of maize and effects of several environmental factors on them. The research trend is predicted in order to expand ear and tassel of maize（Zea mays L.）research and provide scientific basis for its utilization.
