Abstract: Driven by development needs of economic and scientific globalization, strengthening agricultural scientific cooperation becomes an important means to improve agricultural scientific innovation ability and accelerate integration of global scientific innovation network. With the development of“One Belt, One Road”initiative and“GuangdongHong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, Guangdong, a major agricultural province with strong science and technology power, needs to strengthen the cooperation with countries along the route of“One Belt, One Road”, and accelerates transformation and upgrading of agricultural industry and opening up of agriculture, thus realizes the transformation from big agricultural province to strong agricultural province. The paper summarizes the achievements of development mode made by Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences（GAAS）in recent years, which include the combination of“bringing in” and “going out”, the combination of government-led and non-governmental exchanges, and the integration of innovation resources and demonstration base co-construction. Then it analyzes the successful experiences in winning support from the government and scientific research projects, selecting cooperation partners, building international cooperation platforms, and cultivating international cooperation talents. The paper, combined with the resource endowment and development reality in Guangdong, explores the development path of Guangdong agricultural science and technology international cooperation, including implementing the“Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Bay Area”science and technology innovation strategy to create a “bridgehead”of international agricultural science and technology cooperation in South China, integrating various national and provincial platforms and global agricultural science and technology innovation resources to build a new pattern of scientific and technological exchange, strengthening the cultivation of scientific and technological talents and teams with global vision to promote scientific and technological innvation power, and gathering global agricultural science and technology innovation resources to establish a new mode of international cooperation with the deep integration of “government, industry, university and research” in order to provide new ideas for the development of international cooperation of Guangdong agriculture.
