Abstract: The experiment was conducted to study the protein requirement of wenchang caponized chickens. A total of 96，healthy and similar Wenchang caponized chickens which is 75-day-old were randomly divided into 4 treatment groups with 6 replicates of 4 chickens and fed the same dietary nutrient level except protein. The protein of 4 treatment diets was 11.75%，12.60%，13.81%and 14.73% respectively. The experiment lasted for 56 days. The equation of fitting equation was used to determine the requirement of feed crude protein.If the optimum crude protein level of Wenchang chickens was considered from average daily gain，75-88 days，89-102 days，103-116 days，117-131 days and 75-131 days were 13.31%，13.59%，13.02%，13.06% and 13.22%，respectively. If the optimum crude protein level of Wenchang chickens was considered from average daily intake，75-88 days，89-102 days，103-116 days，117-131 days and 75-131 days were 13.05%，13.41%，12.28%，13.06% and 13.14%， respectively. If the optimum crude protein level of Wenchang chickens was considered from feed conversion ratio， 75-88 days，89-102 days，103-116 days，117-131 days and 75-131 days were 13.61%，13.32%，13.07%， 13.23% and 13.34%，respectively. There was no significant in mainly slaughter parameters（P>0.05），but the body fatdeposition was effected. It was concluded that protein requirement of wenchang caponized chickens was 13.0%-13.5%，however，the scale of the experiment is small and further tests are needed to verify the results.
