Abstract: In order to evaluate the status of genetic diversity in Huiyang Bearded chicken，blood from 96 male individuals was collected to extract DNA for amplifying 18 microsatellite sites by polymerase chain reaction （PCR）. Data from Fluorecence-based Genescan with the 18 microsatellite markers were analyzed by Pop Gen 32 software to calculate the allele frequency，heterozygosity，and polymorphism information content. The results showed that the average number of alleles per site，heterozygosity，polymorphism information content were 10.6， 0.5963，0.73 respectively. The results indicate that there are abundant genetic diversity in Huiyang Bearded chicken.
